Symbol of Rolls Royce: Spirit of Ecstasy

The Spirit of Ecstasy is a spectacular mascot of the Rolls Royce car. It resembles a woman standing with her arms outstretched and her arms extended to the back. One thing to note is that the Spirit of Ecstasy is also called Elenor Silver Lady, Flying Lady. The spirit of Ecstasy for the automobile industry is the most eye-catching, discussed, and traditional mascot. It is a symbol of speed, speed, and splendor. This is what Ecstasy explains. Rolls Royce is on the list of elite first choice, it is also unique in terms of quality. Above all, it is a luxury car currently owned by BMW.

History of the Spirit of Ecstasy

Now we come to the part where we talk about the middle ground. Looking back, we see that Royce Ltd was founded in 1904 by Henry Royce. He showed Charles Rolls his elite car. In 1908 they came under a legal joint partnership. Henry Royce managed the mechanical and electronics aspects of the automobile and Rolls handled all the financial and business aspects. Rolls unfortunately died in a plane crash in 1910. His feat of ascending to the skies was most likely influenced by the wings of the Spirit of Ecstasy.

Early Rolls Royce had no mascot. In the beginning, they carry their usual symbol. Boron John instructed his sculptor friend Charles Robinson to make a stone statue. Robinson was then working for an organization in London. Sykes chose Eleanor Velasco Thornton as its model. Charles was able to evoke the idea of the stone statue. It is said to be a symbol of secret love known as The Whisper.

Rolls-Royce began to think about their mascots as soon as other cars started using their mascots. The managing director of Rolls-Royce was of the opinion that there would be a mascot that would carry the tradition of Rolls-Royce and that the mascot would have a symbolic meaning for everything from speed, speed, to no sound, to power. Sykes was associated with feminism. Sykes is the founder of this mascot. The slightly modified version of the 1909 stone statue of Whisper is today’s Spirit of Ecstasy. In February 1911, Rolls-Royce’s Spirit of Ecstasy was unveiled, resembling Whisper. The reason for this similarity is that both are modeled after Miss Thornton. For the past few years, the British firm Spirit of Ecstasy has also produced Louis Lejeune Ltd.

Interestingly, Henry Royce did not like the mascot very much. It most likely would not have been made, if he had not been ill at the time. He believed it distracted the driver from the road and did not use it in his personal car. Another thing to note is that Miss Eleanor, who designed this mascot, died 4 years later. He died on 30 December 1915.

In fact, everything changes over time. Similarly, this mascot and its appearance have changed over time. It was silver plated in 1911 at the time of the creation of the Spirit of Ecstasy but was later converted to chromium for protection against theft and other reasons. Even the mascot has been changed several times to make it more elegant. The current version is made of aesthetic stainless steel. This stainless steel mascot is now marketed for buyers. Even all kinds of Rolls Royce parts are currently marketed for buyers. 24-carat gold is often not mixed with the mascot. There is even a diamond cover many times.

In fact, everything makes sense. Again, money changes over time. The meaning of the symbol is actually in the human mind. Similarly, all the elements used to create the Spirit of Ecstasy have changed, as well as the meaning of the mascot. The mascot’s luxurious symbolism, speed, and beauty still have meaning. Yet it is a symbol of hard work and unparalleled perfection, which makes it exceptional compared to other cars.

Now let’s come to the method of making it. Everything is followed by a rule or procedure. In the case of this mascot, the old method Wax Process was used 5,000 years ago. This method is widely used and known in African areas. In the Bronze Age coating method, molten metal was applied to the mascot which was made using the Wax Model. One thing to note is that it takes a week’s workday to create a spirit of Ecstasy.

One has to be careful all the time to prevent something from distorting, or it is difficult to retain its original form over time. The Spirit of Ecstasy is being designed to keep pace with modernity. And this designer Kris Sukhu says that their goals are fulfilled in all aspects. The designer is collecting many digital images of Eleanor, through which he connects and gives the mascot an unaltered look, which was lost over time.
